Gradient Solstice

Sunset, root level.

A mangrove with sprawling prop roots in calm water, big sun setting against vertical gradient bands. Vintage letterpress poster.

The Story

At the Snook Islands, red mangroves stand in shallows on arched prop roots, sunset light in vertical bands behind them. The golf course boardwalk runs yards away. Mullet and juvenile fish move under the roots as light drops.

The Making

Sunset field built in Photoshop as discrete vertical gradient bands, each band's endpoints specified rather than blended.
Mangrove silhouette rebuilt in Illustrator with clean root geometry for a sharp print edge.
Letterpress finish applied overall.
Exported at 2400 × 3000 px, 300 dpi, sRGB.
