Banding together at sunset.
A huge distressed orange sun disc setting over horizontal retro stripes of gold, red, teal, and deepening blues. Minimal retro-stripe sunset.
Sunsets over the lagoon descend in slices, not blends: gold, red, teal, then blues, in clean horizontal bands. In production terms, banding is usually filed as a defect. From Bryant Park it reads as the standard format, repeated nightly with a distressed sun.
Sunset built as bold horizontal bands in Illustrator - the gradient deliberately stepped at measured intervals, not smoothed.Aged hard in Photoshop with letterpress texture and a distressed sun disc whose edge erosion is masked rather than random.
