Palm Beach Grid

Palm Beach, squared away.

Bauhaus block composition: red sun disc, black palm silhouette, wavy water lines. "Palm Beach / County" lettered in. Minimal geometry with letterpress texture.

The Story

At noon the cottage districts read as geometry: breezeblock screens, white stucco, hard shadows, a palm as black silhouette against a wall. Island side streets repeat the elements with more paint. Only disc, palm, and water lines remain, squared to a grid.

The Making

Composed in Illustrator on a strict square grid: sun disc, palm silhouette, and wave lines as pure flat shapes in four colors.
Palm drawn with Bézier curves held to a minimum of anchor points.
Letterpress texture applied in Photoshop as a halftone overlay.
Type set tight and left-aligned, converted to outlines at export.

Every print made here heads out into the world: a hallway in Ohio, a kitchen in Oregon, a desk somewhere cold. If this one landed with you, drop a pin and put your town on the map.
